Press Release
In the exhibition entitled Plain Air, Linn Pedersen combines a series of blueprints from her ongoing cyanotype studies entitled Stratus, together with analog medium format photography and new sculptural works. The exhibition forms an ambiguous constellation of manufactured products, bodily movements and atmospheric impressions. Her recently published Artist’s Book Sedimentality (Lord Jim Publishing, 2015), featuring an essay by Sigurd Tenningen, will also be available here.

Linn Pedersen(b.1982 in Sortland, Norway) lives and works in Kristiansand, Norway. She received her Master degree from Central Saint Martins College of Fine Arts in London (2009), and Bergen Academy of Art and Design (2006). Previous solo exhibitions include Frokost i det grønne at Kristiansand Kunsthall; Sedimentality at MELK, Oslo; Floor Arrangements at Künstlerhaus Bethanien, Berlin; Echo Chamber at Volt, Bergen (with Jan Freuchen), and The Trouble with Matter at MELK, Oslo. In 2011 Pedersen curated the Biennial, Lofoten International Art Festival (LIAF), together with Thora Dolven Balke.

Plain Air marks the very first exhibition at the recently relocated Entrée. We are looking forward to share the exciting upcoming program with you from our new address. The building's architect is Ole Landmark; the white cube has an especially tall ceiling and enormous window confronting the public space right at the heart of the city of Bergen, Torgallmenningen.

New Scandinavian Photography

with editor Behzad Farazollahi

Saturday October 17, 2pm

The first comprehensive study of the contemporary Scandinavian photography scene, edited by Bjarne Bare and Behzad Farazollahi in collaboration with Oslo based gallery MELK and published by Black Dog Publishing. This book documents the shift in Scandinavian photography away from documentary and towards a fine art practice.

Focusing on the last ten years, New Scandinavian Photography highlights the work produced by a diverse range of artists who are exploring and manipulating the medium of photography in their practices. The book examines photography through academic texts and interviews, addressing its technical and material properties in the context of fine art and pan-media practice, with a focus on the exhibition environment as well as printed matter. Through critical examination and artist interviews, this book showcases established names in the Scandinavian photographic art scene.
