Aktuell: Azar Alsharif
Book Launch with Torpedo Press
Thursday March 2nd, 8pm
Entrée, Markeveien 4b
We are pleased to invite you to the book launch of
'Aktuell: Azar Alsharif', the first publication in the series 'Aktuell' by Torpedo Press and also the first book on Azar Alsharif´s work, who exhibited with Entrée both in 2013 (solo) and 2015 (NADA Art Fair).
The publication presents a wide-ranging selection of Azar Alsharif´s recent work, alongside an interview with Kunsthall Oslo curator, Elisabeth Byre. The book also comes with the essay 'The Paradox of the Toilettes: On Azar Alsharif´s Poetics' by artist, critic and poet Matthew Rana.
Aktuell is a series of publications presenting work by contemporary artists with a connection to Norway. A collaboration between Torpedo Press and Kunsthall Oslo, Aktuell offers compact English language monographs on both emerging and established artists, focusing on work that has not been addressed by existing publications.
Images from the artists' practice are central to the series, contextualised by commissioned essays and interviews. The title of the series, Aktuell, cannot be precisely translated into English - it can mean current, relevant, or potential. The publication is designed by Nell May.
Entrée brings the publication also to our temporarily space at Independent’s Fifth Avenue property in Harlem, where we are currently gallery in residency!
