KUNSTNARDRIVNE VISNINGSROM
BOKLANSERING OG SEMINAR
21. mars 2017, kl. 12:30 - 16:00, Kunsthøgskolen i Oslo

Årestadar for ny kunst" vil bli lansert.

Bergen Assembly collaboration for 2016!
Entrée is super excited about the upcoming Lynda Benglis exhibition 'Raptor', curated by PRAXES from June 17– September 4, as part of this year's Bergen Assembly!

PRAXES is co-founded by Rhea Dall and Kristine Siegel. PRAXES Center for Contemporary Art presented four half-year cycles of exhibitions, publications, and events, each revolving around two unassociated artistic practices, in Berlin between 2013 and 2015. Bergen Assembly 2016 is the second chapter of this investigation.

A pioneer of temporal, vernacular materials, audacious colors, and unapologetic sensory pleasure, Lynda Benglis (b. 1941, USA) has brushed wax, poured latex and phosphorescent foam, layered video, air sprayed metals, stretched paper, and cut up ceramic. Her unexpected tactile pursuits continuously sidestep mainstream movements in contemporary art.

Throughout 2016, Benglis’s unruly cross-approaches will inspire a series of meticulous reinstallations, displays of recent work, devil-may-care detours, and attempts at tracing material histories. Starting from Primary Structures and closing with Is It Now?—a series of intimate screenings of Benglis’s entire video production from 1972 to 1976—this unspooling of her practice in Bergen is more artworks-in-residence than retrospective, more catalyst than compendium.

Objektiv launch at Entrée, Friday 7pm!
Warming up to the exhibition 'Image Support' with Lucas Blalock, Marieta Chirulescu, Ann Cathrin November Høibo and Eileen Quinlan at Bergen Kunsthall (opens 8pm), Entrée wants to invite you to the launch of Objektiv # 12, featuring among others a conversation with Lucas Blalock.

Objektiv # 12 has been inspired by 'Fast Forward: Women in Photography' (Tate Modern, 2015). The issue has singled out the three artists B. Ingrid Olson, Marie Svindt and Lieko Shiga.

Photographer and writer Lucas Blalock has interviewed B. Ingrid Olson, whose work, in his words has ‘a beguiling presence’ that begs an engagement both cerebral and bodily. Artist and writer Kristian Skylstad talks to Marie Svindt, discussing how her nursing training has affected her new work. And finally, the editor of Aperture, Michael Famighetti, interviews Lieko Shiga about her practice, which extends beyond photography into sculptural and social realms. The three artists have also made picture essays especially for Objectiv.

Objektiv is a biannual art publication with a focus on photography and film. The first issue came out six years ago, and the mission is still to act like a time-capsule, documenting where contemporary lens-based art is today. Objektiv has adopted a gallery-in-a-journal format, to show, discuss and challenge photography, film and video art. Since the beginning they have asked artists to reflect on the medium in conversations with other artists, and for every issue invited artist has been commissioned also to exhibit within the magazine pages.

"Real collecting begins in lust: I have to have this, live with this, learn from this, figure out how to pay for this. It cannot be about investment or status. Like making art, writing about it or organizing its public display (in galleries or in museums), collecting is a form of personal expression. It is, in other words, a way to know yourself, and to participate in and contribute to creativity, which is essential to human life on earth".

Anna Lundh at the Museum of Contemporary Art Roskilde
The Miss Clock project part of the exhibition Grey Zone at Entrée (2012) continues. Anna Lundh’s research based work investigates cultural phenomena and social agreements, language and technology, and frequently involves exchange with other people and professionals also beyond the art field. This transdisciplinary work takes the form of video, site specific installation, web-based work, interactive experiments and performance. For ACTS, Lundh has developed a new lecture performance, based on her ongoing research on time and temporality, focusing on the phenomenon of Frøken Klokken (Miss Clock), a (wo)man–machine time telling technology, introduced in Denmark in 1939.

i Kunstforum. Boken var en del av utstillingen
sticks, stones and bones i mars-april.
